North Port, FL North Port, FL Full-time Full-time $55,587 - $88,940 a year $55,587 - $88,940 a year 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago General Description Provide highly responsible technical and creative design support to an assigned department and or/division; to perform a variety of complex tasks related to marketing and outreach of programs, projects, and events in assigned area of responsibility; to work directly with customers, both internal and external, and produce materials for multimedia and print distribution in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties require work to be performed with minimal supervision in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
This position reports to the Marketing & Partnership Manager.
Essential Job Functions Create and design print and digital collateral to fulfill marketing initiatives and support various programs and special events.
Prepares outreach materials and other promotional items related to programs and events; updates information and graphics on City website; provides information for newsletters, brochures, flyers, and videos; and produces high resolution images for use in marketing through digital photography.
Compiles and maintains inventory for promotional items, banners, signage, and photos.
Prepares electronic files according to commercial printers' requirements, checks printer proofs and ensures that layout and design are aligned with brand standards and best practices.
Coordinates the design, layout, and production of a variety of publication and marketing collateral which may include brochures, banners, print ads, posters, signs, flyers, presentation decks, and promotional merchandise.
Compiles and organizes information from multiple sources; formats and updates written material and graphics provided in multiple file types including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Publisher, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Documents and tracks progress towards project deliverables through project management system.
Coordinates with City sponsors in creating/designing marketing material as per sponsorship policy.
Supports the goals and objectives of the Communications Division and works towards ADA web accessibility compliance.
Assists in the development and evaluation of annual budgeting needs for software, supplies and materials.
Coordinate with the Operations Manager or Administrative Services Specialist for any procurement needs related to the provisioning of the job responsibilities.

Skilled in the use of small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
Experience working with large format printers preferred.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite software (e.

, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and Premiere Pro).

Ability to work collaboratively, organize multiple projects with varying deadlines and communicate effectively.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field or possession of an Associate's degree.
Three (3) years of experience creating and assembling images and graphics to produce designs for websites, print/digital media, and displays.
Minimum one (1) year experience working with InDesign and Illustrator.
(A comparable amount of relevant training, education and/or experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.

Paid Holidays The City observes 12 paid holidays per year.
Sick Leave and Annual Leave Full time employees accrue eight (8) hours per month starting on the first day of employment.
Accruals and usage will appear on your pay stub each payroll.
Full time employees accrue annual leave (vacation) bi-weekly, based on years of service.
Sick Leave Incentive Employees receive an incentive of up to four (4) days per calendar year for every 250 hours remaining in their sick leave bank.
Sick leave incentive days cannot be carried over to the next year.
Personal Leave Employees are eligible for a maximum of two (2) personal leave days per calendar year when they have accrued 96 or sick more hours.
