North Port, FL North Port, FL Full-time Full-time $55,587 - $88,940 a year $55,587 - $88,940 a year 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago General Description The Development Coordinator will be responsible for tasks related to developer projects to include dedicated assets, dedicated easements, tracking of previously paid capacity, and the drafting of miscellaneous correspondence during the development and permitting process.
Position reports to the Business Manager.
Essential Job Functions Reviews plans, reviews contracts prior to construction and attends construction meetings as required.
Performs fixture counts or confirms fixture counts submitted by outside agencies and coordinates with outside entities and Utilities.
Assists with permit coordination and with easement acquisitions for development areas.
Responsible for tracking capacity and developer agreement coordination.
Drafts various required correspondence for developer projects.
Responsible for reservation of capacity fee, developer agreement fee, recording and guaranteed revenue billing associated with developer agreements and accruals for end of year reconciliations.
Prepares materials for City Commission action.
Coordinates department's agenda items for City Commission meetings and workshops, including scheduling, drafting staff summaries, compiling backup documentation, creating presentations, and tracking action items for development areas and developer agreements.
Creates efficiencies in the developer project process, such as develops and ensures availability of fillable forms.
Serves as the liaison within Utilities and other departments regarding developer projects.
Assists in tracking the permit process internally and externally as needed.
Oversees payment for capacity and meter applications.
Responsible for tracking of dedicated assets.
Directly supervises the residential and commercial meter applications, fire flow tests, hydrant meters, billing for hydrant reads, contractor damage billing and leachate billing, and maintenance of prepaid ERC tracking.

) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of water and wastewater utility infrastructure construction techniques and design concepts as a requirement of the position.
Knowledge of project and construction management.
Skilled in the use of small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
Skilled in using computers for data entry.
Must have excellent organizational, communication and listening skills.
Basic ability to read and comprehend construction plans, details, and specifications.
Ability to understand project accounting.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently, and maintain organization.
Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and to stand/walk for long periods of time.
Proficient in oral and written communication.
Ability to work in a team environment and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City officials, other employees, customers, and the public.

Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, environmental science engineering, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience utility operations and compliance with an emphasis on communication and program development.
(A comparable amount of relevant training, education and/or experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.
) Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.

Sick Leave and Annual Leave Full time employees accrue eight (8) hours per month starting on the first day of employment.

Sick Leave Incentive Employees receive an incentive of up to four (4) days per calendar year for every 250 hours remaining in their sick leave bank.

Personal Leave Employees are eligible for a maximum of two (2) personal leave days per calendar year when they have accrued 96 or sick more hours.
